Jamie Lin Wilson

Jamie’s anticipated new record Jumping Over Rocks marks her second full-length solo album, but she’s not the new kid. She cut her teeth fronting and co-fronting beloved bands including the Gougers and the Trishas, winning over listeners and peers across the country. Now, her place as an acclaimed singer-songwriter on her own seems fated, imbued with a singular blend of freshness and road-earned wisdom. “I consider ‘Jumping Over Rocks’ to be a definitive record on myself and my style,” Jamie says. “I hope it’s something people connect with, that it’s familiar to them but also new. I hope that people find it interesting.”

No one covers the spectrum of age and experience quite like Jamie: moving portraits of men, women, and children coping, striving, wondering, and celebrating. Interesting? Undoubtedly. Universal but specific and personal, too. “I studied people around me more for this record than I have in the past,” she says. “I wrote songs from my perspective, from the outside looking in.”

Matt the Electrician

Matt Sever — DBA Matt the Electrician — sings about virtue and hope on his upcoming album We Imagined an Ending. In the jangly first release “Home Again,” the Austin singer-songwriter explores the idea of prudence. “If you’re gonna be here now, you better take a deep breath,” he sings, advising patience and caution in 2021. The guitars are Big Star bright, the harmonies choir-like, and Matt’s own delivery a jolt of clarity in a cacophonous world. It’s a journey to zen, in just under four minutes.

JM Stevens

The Austin- based songwriter who fueled Moonlight Towers through 15 years, four albums and thousands of miles crisscrossing the country on shoestring tours has a knack for tapping the intangible elements of pop songcraft that elevate the enduring from the ephemeral.

What Stevens leaves out of his songs is almost as important as what he puts in. There’s no instrumental derring-do or insular lyricism. He’s wise enough to know not to let musical ego get in the way of a good hook. Stevens would rather have you humming along and connecting with the songs on your own emotional terms.

“Where the complexity comes in is the texture you put on them and the feeling as opposed to the inner-workings and gears,” he says. “I want to create more of an overall picture in a song.”

Austin, Texas duo Albert and Gage (Christine Albert and Chris Gage) have a personal and musical chemistry that radiates from the stage. The joy they experience making music together is evident as they travel through their musical roots, moving from country and folk to blues and French chansons. The integrity of their musicianship and the rare blend of their voices create a unique and cohesive sound as Gage effortlessly switches from guitar to piano and accordion throughout their set to follow the mood of the music. Austin songwriter Jimmy LaFave once described Christine as a “wondrous singer with a beautiful focus and unrestrained grace.” She had a prolific recording career as a solo artist before meeting Gage, including the acclaimed “Texafrance” series, a bilingual tribute to her European family roots. Christine’s most recent solo CD “Everything’s Beautiful Now” explores the richness of loss, an issue she deals with every day as Founder & CEO of Swan Songs®, a non-profit that fulfills musical last wishes. Ms. Albert has also served for 12 years on the national Board of Trustees of the Recording Academy (known for the GRAMMY Awards®), eventually rising to the position of Chair of the Board and currently serving as Chair Emeritus. In addition, Christine serves on the Board of Directors of Musicares® and the Latin Recording Academy®.
